About the A&P/IA position - FAA A&P Licence required

We are looking for a capable FAA A&P licensed Aircraft Mechanic preferably with an IA who will repair and maintain our aircraft.

Our flight school is located at KSGJ in ST. Augustine FL.

This position is intended for someone with prior General Aviation Experience preferably with an IA and Flight school maintenance experience.

Your duties will include troubleshooting issues and fixing them aiming to maximum reliability and functionality. You will communicate with our DOM and Dispatch Department to provide them with acurate estimates for aircraft availabity.

You should be well-versed in the operations of small engines and have a strong working knowledge of Aircraft electrical systems.

A&P Mechanic responsibilities are:

  • Examine components and general state of aircraft engine to diagnose issues accurately

  • Examine aircraft fuselage and components to repair, maintain and upgrade

  • Organize maintenance work (including replacing fluids, lubricating parts and so on) in accordance with FAA regulations and standards, on a regular basis

  • Preform 100 Hour Inspections

  • Perform accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job

  • Manage Maintenance logs in compliance with the FARS

  • Ensure equipment and tools are properly maintained

A&P/IA Mechanic requirements are:

  • Valid FAA A&P certificate preferably with IA

    Must be willing to relocate to St. Augustine FL.

  • Preferred: 2+ years' experience of working as A&P on General Aviation airplanes or other relevant position

  • Significant experience with Single and Multi Engine Piston aircraft

  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical components

  • Experience of handling various tools and heavy equipment

  • Ability to lift +50lbs

  • Ability to work nights and weekends as required

  • Ability to work shifts

  • Ability to comply with all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.

  • Good physical condition

  • High school diploma; additional certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship

Compensation Varies off of your background and experience.
